Daniel Choi, [email protected]Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, I enjoyed being outside, playing with blocks, building with scraps of wood, asking riddles, and doing all sorts of things that required the use of my mind and hands. My seven siblings and I were never bored, always inventing some new pastime or game.
Academic and Professional Experience; View Full CV I graduated in 2021 with a master of wildlife biology from NC State University. I graduated from NC State University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology. Since 2016, I have spent summers working at Fort Bragg, NC on a Bachman's sparrow research project; in Couer d'Alene, ID for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game; in Hadley, MA for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; and at Padre Island National Seashore for the U.S. National Park Service. At NC State, I worked as a teaching assistant in addition to working on various research project and working with university housing. As an undergraduate, I worked as a campus photographer, tutor, teaching assistant, leadership program coordinator, and university housing community assistant. I have been involved with the University Honors Program, Social Innovation Fellows, Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program, Engaging Leaders Program, USFWS Directorate Fellows Program, and NPS/ESA Future Park Leaders Program. Read more about different research projects I've worked on HERE. Hobbies and Interests I have traveled through a diverse set of hobbies, some passing quickly and some remaining through the years. Current activities I find interesting and enjoyable include photography, painting, piano, poetry, reading, writing, puzzles, codes, building, backpacking, climbing, ultimate frisbee, and spikeball. Some topics that interest me include ecology, ethnobiology, ornithology, leadership, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, curiosity, physics, creative writing, time travel, education, and logic. |
